Erasmus+

Erasmus+ mobility in universities is one of the European Union’s key initiatives to support international cooperation, learning, and professional development in higher education. Through a wide range of opportunities for students, teachers, researchers, and administrative staff, the programme promotes academic exchange, cultural enrichment, and the transfer of knowledge across borders. Mobility activities—such as study periods abroad, traineeships, teaching assignments, and staff training—help strengthen institutional partnerships, enhance the quality of education, and foster a more interconnected and innovative European Higher Education Area. By encouraging openness, collaboration, and lifelong learning, Erasmus+ plays a central role in shaping a dynamic and internationally engaged university community.

Current Erasmus mobilities projects funded by EUPA to MEDEA

In Malta, the Erasmus+ programme is coordinated by EUPA-the European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA) that supports Maltese individuals and entities in requesting funds under the European Commission educational programmes.

Currently, there are three Erasmus mobilities projects funded by EUPA to Pegaso International-MEDEA; two of these initiatives fall under KA171 action.

The first one, Ref N. 2022-1-MT01-KA171-HED-000080695,wascarried out in partnership with Philadelphia University in Jordan, has been successfully completed in June 2025 with 7 incoming mobilities for teaching and learning staff from Jordan. The final report assessment has been completed. The qualitative assessment was positive, with an in-depth analysis of the impact and outcomes of the project , so as the appreciation for dedication and hard work throughout the project.

The second project, reference number: 2023-1-MT01-KA171-HED-000130645, developed in collaboration with Batumi State Maritime Academy in Georgia, is still ongoing and continues to promote intercultural dialogue, capacity building, and shared academic development between the partner countries. Mobilities planned in the project were:

  • 2 staff mobility for teaching (incoming)

  • 2 staff mobility for teaching (outgoing)

  • 2 student mobility for study (incoming)

  • 2 student mobility for study (outgoing)

Of which a part has been realised. The deadline of the project is July 31, 2026.

MEDEA also implements a KA131 project, ref. 2024-1-MT01-KA131-HED-000204349.

It supports the mobility of 6 students and 14 teachers and staff of Pegaso International-MEDEA, within the European Higher Education Area of associated and non associated countries (see calls), offering, opportunities for training, teaching, and study abroad.

The call for the KA131 for teacher and staff (deadline for application: 20-12-2025) is downloadable here.

The Call for students will be soon available in this page.

Together, these three projects reflect our institution’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and creating meaningful opportunities for global learning and professional growth.
